How to choose university study notes before you buy
A long PDF is not automatically a useful revision resource. The right set of notes should help you understand material in your current subject, with enough visible information to judge it before paying.
1. Match the subject code and university
Similar subject names can hide different content. Start with the code on your current enrolment, then check the university and subject title. If the code has changed, compare the current outline carefully instead of assuming the old and new subjects are equivalent.
2. Compare the topic list with your LMS
Write down the main topics you need to revise and compare them with the product's topic list. Look for the gaps you are trying to close. A resource may explain useful foundations without covering every topic or assessment in your current class. An edition year tells you when a resource is labelled or updated; it does not establish university approval or guarantee an exact match to this semester.
3. Read the actual preview
Inspect a real content page as well as the cover. Can you follow the definitions and examples? Is the notation explained? Are the headings meaningful? Small text, decorative covers and a high page count should not distract from whether the explanations work for you. On CampusNotes, check the visible preview pages, topic list and page count on the product page.
4. Decide what role the notes will play
Useful roles include getting another explanation, organising a topic, and checking a gap before you attempt practice questions. Notes should support your own learning. Do not assume a purchase gives permission to use the material in an exam, submit it as your own work, or share it with a study group. Your subject's assessment rules remain the authority.
5. Check access and licensing
Before checkout, check the file format, personal-use terms, refund policy and delivery instructions. CampusNotes delivers personalised PDFs through your signed-in Downloads library. New note purchases include five downloads per purchased copy; a download is a retrieval of the file, not a limit on how often you can read a saved copy. The existing optional Unlimited Downloads plan covers repeated downloads of notes you own, not access to every note in the catalogue.
6. Avoid buying the same resource twice
Check your account and order emails first. If you already own a suitable resource, use it to create a short question list before looking for more material. Another PDF is only useful if it solves a specific problem that your existing resources do not.
